This collection includes at least one copy (and, in most cases, two copies) of every Town Report from 1890 to 2009. Reports prior to 1890 are not as well—represented —— there are just fifteen annual reports with cover dates from 1852 to 1888. Contents vary over time. Reports of the Overseers of the Poor and School Superintending Committee are included in some of the earliest Town Reports. Cover photographs begin in the 1970s.
In all cases, Town Reports are listed according to their cover dates. The Town's fiscal year has changed over time. In the nineteenth century it was March 1; then January 31, and since 1944, December 31. The materials are arranged in chronological order.
